In 2019, just days before deployment, a former military officer and Filipino patriot, Davey Joe—the founder of Amphibious—was unexpectedly denied the opportunity to work abroad as a security manager. With no job, no income, and a heavy heart, he faced a crossroad. But in that moment of defeat, he chose creation over despair.
Driven by purpose and shaped by adversity, he turned to art. He taught himself graphic design and learned the craft of screen printing—armed only with passion, grit, and a burning sense of duty. Yet, even as he built something new, the headlines echoed louder: the sovereignty of the West Philippine Sea was once again under threat. As a former Navy man who once sailed those very waters, the news struck a nerve.
That was the spark.
Amphibious was founded in Manila—not just as a clothing brand, but as a movement. A voice. A flag you can wear on your chest. It became a tribute to every Filipino who has ever served, sacrificed, and stood tall in the face of challenges—from the heroes of 1896 to the modern-day defenders of our sovereignty.
